ALIU X BELAMER

We are drawn to thoughtful processes and stories that reflect a deeper connection to people and place. Our latest collaboration with ALIU is that, a meeting point between minimalism and craftsmanship, brought to life through three handcrafted bags designed for long days by the sea.

These pieces are crafted using fique, a plant-based fiber native to Latin America. Once harvested, the fiber is dried, dyed with natural pigments, and prepared for weaving.

The entire process is manual, no machines are involved, making each bag slightly unique in texture and tone.

The bags are handwoven in Colombia by artisan communities who gather to work together in shared spaces, passing on knowledge and preserving traditional methods with care.

Originally used to make sacks for transporting grains and produce, fique has long been a practical material.

Through this collaboration, it’s reimagined into something functional and timeless, designed to move effortlessly between the beach and everyday life.

The Oléna Bag is available in Cream and in Cocoa.

Claudia, in the Aurea Dress and the Noa Bag in Cream, the perfect mini for just the essentials.

These bags reflect a slower approach to making, one that values transparency, craft, and community.
